Mini Boffins - hands on science sessions for your EYFS setting

Mini Boffins – Big Science for Little Explorers!

Mini Boffins delivers curriculum-linked science sessions for 3-5 year olds, designed to develop problem-solving, inquiry skills, and confidence in a fun, hands-on way.

Learning Through Exploration

We take a constructivist approach, allowing children to build knowledge through experience rather than direct instruction. Each session is designed to spark curiosity, encourage questioning, and develop scientific thinking through the following structure:

🔍 Hands-On Investigations – Using real scientific tools, children test ideas and gather evidence.
🗣️ Language Development – Key vocabulary is introduced and built upon each week.
🎵 Songs for Reinforcement – Learning is consolidated through music and movement.

Meet Bunsen the Alien!

Bunsen comes from a planet where science works differently. In each session, we introduce an idea that challenges children’s understanding—like “heavy things float” or “rain falls up.” Through a series of guided experiments, they explore how things actually work on Earth, reinforcing learning through observation and discovery.

We have 6 themed programmes: Materials, Space, Forces, Weather, Aminals and Habitats. Click through the brochure below for more information about how they link with your curriculum.
